On July 8, 2011 MSI came forward with its brand new 14-inch ultraportable laptop X460, which is known to be the lightest laptop of all times blessed with Intel Core i7 Processor. The X460 and its kin X460DX are bestowed with dual graphic card-switching and are only 4.4 pounds in weight and is merely 1 inch thick. The additional features of these laptops include support for a second internal hard drive.

MSI is a Taiwan-based electronic company that is known across the world as the largest producers of motherboards and video cards. Usually, it is quite difficult to find laptops bestowed with support for a second internal hard drive, but according to the press release by MSI, the X460 and X460DX have it. In fact, you can also boost the performance of your systems by adding the optional solid state drive (SSD).

The company gives you an option to choose from either Core i7 or Core i5 processor for X460. On the other hand, X460DX will find usage in the gaming and entertainment fields as it is designed according to it. The X460DX contains Nvidia discrete graphics card (supporting DirectX 11) and MSI GPU Boost technology along with graphics card switch indicator. However, the X460DX is available only with the Intel Core i5 processor.

The battery life of both the laptops is assessed to be at least eight hours when it is fully charged. In addition, the buzz around the X460DX and X460 suggests that the laptops are built on “an aerodynamic feather pattern.” The cover as well as the palm rest areas of the laptop is made of aluminum alloy.

Till date, no information regarding the pricing as well as the release date of this product has been announced by MSI.
