UNIX powerful computer operating system
This is a powerful computer operating system that is very popular among the engineering, scientific, and academic communities. It provides the multi-user and multi-tasking environment, electronic mail and networking capabilities, flexibility and portability, the numerous programming, text processing and scientific utilities. Usually UNIX operating system consists of one central computer and multiple terminals.

The UNIX features are:

Multitasking:

Multi tasking is one of the advance feature almost all latest operating system support this feature. While start multi tasking it can be possible that when' multi tasking starts, system will freeze for few seconds but in UNIX, does not happen this problem. A UNIX system can do several things at once so that user doesn't have to wait for one application to end and other to start.

Multi-user's:

Multi-user feature allows multiple users to use the computer. Number of users simultaneously put commands to run programs, print documents, and access files. It handles all the requests very fairly without conflicting requests. Several users can access same document by partition the document then even one user make changes to the document then it will not effect the other user document.

System portability:

UNIX can be move from one computer brand to another with a minimum of code changes using the system portability feature. UNIX has backward compatibility feature that means that the operating system could be upgraded without having all the data inputted again. Peer to Peer network operating system.
