Default Linux disributions on the CHIP DVD

Linux distributions on the CHIP DVD-open SUSE 11.0 and Gentoo Linux 2008.0. When I click the 'Open Folder' button on the Linux menu, I see zipped folders of open SUSE 11.0 and Gentoo Linux2008.0 with the other Linux tools. I unzipped those folders on my PC. But I don't know how to install the Linux distributions. Please send me step-by¬step instructions for installing both these operating systems and their respective tools.

The distributions of Linux given on the format. It seems that you have Win RAR installed on your computer, and therefore the files will show as compressed archives. But they are not supposed to be unzipped or unarchived. These ISO files should be burned/written onto a CD as a disc image using any CD/ DVD burning tool. You can try ISO burner or Nero if you wish. You then have to boot your computer using the CD you created and install the Linux operating system. Make sure you have backups of your data and have enough free hard disk space to' install Linux on your computer. You will need to re-partition your drive to create unallocated disk space for installing Linux. Your query states that you do not know how to install Linux or have never been exposed to a Linux platform. I would recommend that you take the help of a friend who knows to install and use Linux to help you here.

There are many more websites that can help you install Linux on your desktop PC. Just search on Google and check out the easiest one for your. Level of understanding.
