Default Changing hard drive on a linux with XP

    Hello everyone.

I just got a PC (Dell Potpies gx270) that brings a hard drive with Ubuntu Linux installed and working properly. I want to remove this disk and mount that was mounted on my old pc with XP Professional. I did not when I boot Xp even fail. What should I do to make it work?

    Thanks in advance.

Make the installation of XP from 0. So you avoid problems.

Andalusia has different drivers installed for your current hardware it needs to function properly it is best to start from scratch. Save data to another disk or partition and install the operating system and install new drivers for your current hardware

Boot from the XP CD and reformat so. Get the data before or lost.

Change the boot sequence in BIOS to boot from the CD and format and install the operating system. Incidentally take a 25-30 GB partition for the operating system and the rest for data.

To be able to choose the operating system you want to boot just to use a boot loader

There is a way to "adapt" your old installation to the new machine, but may give problems. In the Windows installation to repair dale a previous Windows installation!
