    Default Linux live CD desktop

I want to run a live Linux desktop CD on my notebook .I tried Sante FE .It cleaned out my Win2k Server /2000 partitions. I ghosted Windows 2000 on the laptop, which is an IBM ThinkPad w Intel P4 with Centrino Tech. I desire to attempt again but I am a Newbie as well as require more detail. Also, I need to know what setting to burn up the distros to the CD when I use Nero Burning Rom. Should I make use of the udf/iso, bootable CD or data file setting? I have Knoopix, Goblinx, Memphis as well as Morphix waiting in the wings. I am enchanted with running a desktop without installing for using Linux Thanks to all.

You have downloaded ISO images of Linux live cds. To burn them with Nero, pick "burn disk from CD image". An ISO image is a disk copy. Once you have effectively produced the disc, set the bios of your computer to boot from cdrom primary. Then restart your PC with the live CD in place. Some bad news. Laptops can be difficult with hardware revealing in Linux. Pmcia as well as SCSI cards are universal laptop devices.
