Thread: CentOS Network problem in VMware

Hello. I am using VMware (virtual machine) to run a server using CentOS.
I've installed Cpanel and everything else onto it, but I cannot port-forward the IP.
The IP of CentOS is 192.168.164.129 and I need it to be 192.168.1.xxx
my router will not let me port-forward the IP 192.168.164.129 because it says it's not a LAN address.

Any ideas?

What are your specs?

Have you tried bridged networking? You're probably using NAT. With bridged networking you should get an IP in the 192.168.1.xxx range from your dhcp server.

Thanks. I did have it using NAT and I've change it to bridged. Although now CentOS cannot get the internet even-though my IP is now 192.168.1.5. Anyone knows how to fix this?
