Default How to change boot-up sequence between Ubuntu and windows xp

Windows xp as well as Ubuntu 9.04 is installed on my PC. The whole thing is very well so far-off.

But yet I mostly use Windows XP; even I would like to change to Ubuntu. So while I am booting plus do not speedily choose physically win xp Ubuntu will be booted always.

How can I transform the boot-up order, so as to win xp will be primary as well as chosen automatically in its place of Ubuntu ones?

    Thanks.

    Default

    gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

Not far from the top, there ought to be a line like this:

    Default 0

The 0 means choose the primary one on the listing. Go along to ## ## End of Default Options ##

The foremost title entry you observe is the Ubuntu that starts at default. Now count entries to your Windows XP install

    Example: 5

Just alter default 0, to default 5 if WinXP is the 6th entry.

If you don’t control by editing your /boot/grub/menu.lst, I would advise you to make use of the StartUp Manager GUI.

It lets you arrange several grub options with an accessible graphical interface.

You need to install the StartUp Manager:

    a) Search for the "startupmanager" with the help of Synaptic package manager, choose it in addition to after that install it.

    b) You can also set up it presently writing (or else copy&paste) after that line on a Terminal:

    Sudo aptitude install startupmanager.

As the set up is completed, just have to select your "Win XP" choice in: "Boot Options" tab - "Default operating system" section:
