    Default Removing grub loader

I have currently set up Windows XP pro as well as Ubuntu 9 in my machine. And now I want to set up xp again by xp bootable cd, but i am not capable to boot from xp cd. Whenever I insert the disc, "press any key to boot from cd” is displayed but after that only blank screen appears. So am not capable to boot from cd due grub loader. So i want to eliminate grub loader, but not capable to do. Please give any method to do so?

I don't believe grub is problem in your case. Bootable CD must boot regardless of OS on HDD’s disc damaged? If you still want to take out grub.

You in fact have booted fruitfully at that point, plus the note comes from the running CD. In other words, there is no need to take out grub. You just have to press a key on the keyboard like it says to boot the XP installer. They actually didn't want people to end up in the installer by mistake just as they left the install compact disk in, but I've seen that activities confuse people before.

If you don't press a key, it's believed to restart the boot procedure as well as turn control over to the bootloader on the hard drive, but I've seen it fail to do that before as well as leave a blank screen, just like you describe.

BTW, reinstalling XP will overwrite your existing grub bootloader, plus you will have to restore it (or else set up the Windows bootloader to load Ubuntu) if you want to carry on using your Ubuntu set up.
