In Jaunty as well as previous releases, deleting the quiet and splash boot parameters let the consumer see ALL output from init scripts - something output to stdout or else stderr like normal bash echo command output. At present yet after taking out the quiet parameter you just observe the messages plainly coded with commands like "log_begin_message"
Now with Karmic I've tried the subsequent:
- remove quiet and splash boot parameters
- uninstall usplash
- hit ESC during bootup
As best as I can know, the behaviour of striking ESC all through usplash has just been changed in the past week to kill whatsoever init course is running at the time.
So ESC can not be offhandedly strike any longer to observe verbose details, it causes all sorts of issues. Such as, you'll find messages like this after striking ESC.
mountall: Cancelled
General error mounting filesystems
So how can I make out all messages from the init scripts?
