My machine is being outfitted with AMD Phenom 925 quad core CPU on Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5p AM3 socket Motherboard with 4Gb DDR3 + Nvidia GT 8600 graphics card.

I was advised over the weekend by my 'update manager' that Ubuntu 9.10 was offered for upgrade. My present operating system was Ubuntu 9.04 AMD with 64 bit. I upgraded as per directions and as the upgrade everything seems to be running ok apart from for these pretty orange 'crash report' icons that be appearing in the top right desktop panel.

This frequently starts a few seconds after boot as well as after that intermittently all through normal computer process.

When clicking on the icon I am inform that a main kernel problem might lead to pc instability...When I report it I am told that it has by now been reported. I uninstalled as well as re-installed 9.10 to no avail plus I am now just clicking on the 'crash icon' and after that clicking 'cancel' to get rid of the icon as well as continue normal use.

In spite of the icons appearing, there doesn't appear to be any adverse influence on my system plus I have not experienced something annoying like unexpected shut downs or else application failures etc....Just this trying 'crash report icon'
