    Default How stop Firefox compatability checks

    I am Using Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop installed with Ubuntu 9.10 Operating System, which I have just freshly upgraded from 9.04 using Update Manager.

    Is there a method to discontinue Firefox 3.5.4 from checking compatability of Add-ons: it does so numerous times a day for the language add-ons?

    There can be a small deception to control that, but its suggested that you backup your profile before making these changes. To execute this, you have to stop the compatibility check for add-ons:

    In the address bar, type: about:config / ok

    A list appears:
    * Right Click>/New/ Boolean
    * Enter the option name: extensions.checkCompatibility
    * Set value (true), to: false
    * Restart Firefox.

    It is possible to re set off this check by choosing value: true. Reverting changes or else troubleshoots problems. Firefox does not work correctly after the operation!!

    Following this change, one or else more add-ons might the browser crash.

    * Start Firefox in Safe Mode:
    * Return the value of extensions.checkCompatibility true.
    * Restart Firefox normally.
    * If your profile has been altered, reset it manually or using MozBackup.

    You can attempt to locate out which module causes the trouble by disabling all, afterward reactivating them one by one until Firefox crashes once more, after that deactivate defective module
