    Default Update manager gets hangs in 9.04 when trying to upgrade to karmic

    Hi,

    I have subsequent edition of Ubuntu
    Codename: jaunty
    Release: 9.04
    Description: Ubuntu 9.04
    Distributor ID: Ubuntu

    And i required updating it to karmic. I have recently installed all the essential updates on my laptop and whenever I try to make use of the update manager to upgrade to karmic my update manager just hangs with out doing something. Any hints if this upgrade is possible or not?

    First of all press the "Alt key + F2" after that in the box that pops up in that type as "update-manager -d"

    Do a complete clean installation of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic using a Live CD.
