Default A way to recover previous version of .doc file?

Hello all. I saved a text file with OpenOffice Word to my desktop, after that I force shut down my PC (held down the power push button), as well as restarted. I tried to open the file once more, but it kept opening with gedit. I test out the properties and it was 0 kb, so I just fix on to look in the "backup" folder as well as that file is also 0 kb. Is there a method that I can restore a earlier version of this file?

Please reply back; urgently want back all 15 pages for GIANT senior paper. Thanks!

Sorry to say if you have a copy stored anywhere else I don't think that you will get it back. I suppose the forced shutdown stopped it concluding the save. You could try searching your PC for the file given name just in-case but you are improbable. Have you tried opening up open office and after that using that to open the file? Good luck in locating it.

Yep, perhaps nothing is saved, maybe you've chance. When you opened the file with OpenOffice before it should show in history, generally shows last used 10 files, its given name as well as path.

Whenever you begin OpenOffice for each default it tries to restore files after crashing, as it autosaves per default all 15 minutes. (Option menu - load/save.)
