Thread: How to set up Ubuntu on a PC which does not have a hard disk

I make out that all PC needs a hard disk to store the operating system as well as other files. Currently i have been demanding to make a cost valuable PC with my own available gadgets. Now is it feasible for me to set up Ubuntu (which only wants 4GB of hard-disk to set up) on a 8GB Flash Drive(Pen drive).I include a Intel CPU with decent CPU with 1GB of RAM i have almost got all except a hard-disk. So im setting up to make use of my pen drive to apply it as the secondary memory to store the OS related files and i setting up to make use of portals for example MY SPACE to store my personnel files(as i have a very fast INTERNET connection).Guys!! Please help me to build this PC which will completely run both Ubuntu or else Xubuntu (for performance reasons).

It’s doable. Just plug your Flash Drive > place the ubuntu disc in CD Drive > as well as boot the system.

Rest of the process is same as if you are installing to hard drive. Since Flash Disk will be known as a HDD throughout installation process.
