After installing Ubuntu 9.1 clean on my Dell Inspiron 1100, I am no longer capable to open a file browser when there is a data CD in the drive. The disc itself is also not available. This worked very well in Ubuntu 8, where the CD was produced, and some other CD insertion creates this symptom. If I'm screening a file as well as slot in a data CD, the folder closes. Any try to open a file browser with the CD in the drive will try for a while, and then give up. This is mainly difficult as I cannot restore the data from my old installation into my new one (with the CD drive is no longer usable in 9.1). Can someone help me make this work again?
