Default My package manager will not run

This is the fault whenever I undertake to run my package manager.

E: Type 'sudo' is not recognized on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources cannot read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the trouble.
    E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

The opening line of your sources list is incorrect. You have to make the line unproductive. In a Terminal input: gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Put a # at the beginning of the first line.

Save gedit. Exit gedit. Try once more

Suggestion that gives you is excellent but if you want to correct your source list type in terminal

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list

And post output here so we can correct it. This is non-compulsory since with tip you will be well.

After doing the subsequent, "gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Put a # at the start of the first line.
Save gedit. Exit gedit. Try again"
    I got the subsequent fault
E: Type 'sudo' is not known on line 51 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list

To correct it, I erased the last lines which read,

    sudo apt-key add -
    sudo apt-get update

The whole thing works very well now. Thank you once more.
