Thread: How to stop The Boot Screen lacking menu.lst

Hello, I controlled to set up Ubuntu 9.10 lacking a delay plus I was thinking the query as to how to stop the boot screen as well as see the text screen. I seen on Google how to do it using editing the menu.lst file in the grub directory but when I tried this preference my set up doesn't seem to have this file.

So my subject is does someone know how to stop the boot screen lacking this file?

PS. Be kind I'm a complete noob when it comes to operational with Linux.

From Ubuntu 9.10, Grub is Grub 2. And it do not include menu.lst

To get the goal do:

sudo gedit /etc/default/grub

And locate the line

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" as well as eliminate the "quiet splash"

save the file plus after that update grub with :

sudo update-grub

Now reboot the system.
