When I do"sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" in ubuntu edgy distribution, I got the following result:install-info(ipc): failed to lock dir for editing! Try deleting /usr/share/info/dir.lock?did you try deleting it? why are you using apt-get rather than synaptic? synaptic is much easier, especially for those who are new to Ubuntu.
