Thread: Setting up internet connection in Linux

I have set up internet connection with all my PCs which have XP as OS but can’t set up internet connection with my Linux OS. And I do not know how to set up internet connection with Linux. So please help me to join with Internet in Linux. Any help would be appreciated.

When you set to organize Linux for internet connection, ensure that you have Ethernet card connected in PC. Ethernet card makes enable PCs to communicate over network environment. Firstly attach with internet and network service. This card has port in which internet cable is connected. After completing these needs, go to next step to connect with internet.

Internet provider is allocated you to any IP address and they did not tell you about IP allocation and all. Then PC would be attached with DHCP client IP address. To get IP of DHCP client connection with following command: # dhclient eth0 or # dhcpcd eth0.

Both these commands show Static IP address for your PC to run with internet connection.
