When Ubuntu operating system is installed on computer, computer name can be selected that will permit computer to be referenced over local network. If ever want to modify this name, you can do so from incurable window in Ubuntu. This procedure requires a few technical skills to perform, though don't have to be an expert.

• Log in Ubuntu and open incurable window from Desktop shortcut.
• Type "gksudo gedit /etc/hostname" into incurable window and strike Enter key.
• Enter in Administrator password and strike Enter key.
• Remain for text editor window to unlock. Adapt present computer name in hostname file, click the "Save" button and outlet text editor.
• Restart computer.
