Thread: Open, create, edit, or view a file in Linux?

Hi everyone. I am recently installed Linux operation system on my computer. I am new in Linux world. I don’t have knowledge of Linux OS. I want to know how to Open, create, edit, or view a file in Linux? Please tell me how to do that. All possible replies are highly appreciated.

There are different commands that can be used to open, create, edit, and/or view a file in Linux. Remember that some options of Linux may also not consist of each of the below commands, for example, the pico command is not integrated in a lot of default

installations.

View a file

• Cat

• Tail

• Head

• pg

Open, create, and edit a file

• pico

• vi

• vim
