Default Responsibility a RAMdisk out of change.

I'm using any filters on a Sendmail box that recommends using a RAMdisk [tmpfs] to fund temporary files, the action benefits of which are quite discernible. Yet, the difficulty is if a brobdingnagian product of messages are all delivered at once this separate can be pushed off the carnal remembering and into trade. When this happens the action tanks to most 1/20th to 1/30th of rule.

Is there anything I can do to ready a tmpfs from state swapped to disk?

um, if it doesn't switch you're exploit to decline the messages themselves rather than fitting losing both execution.

Advisable I don't really mean to say "physical memory or bust" but kinda "switch everything added that can be put into swop into interchange before the tmpfs". The big image truly boils doc to double the RAM in the machines, which we are doing real presently. But this is not a trifling performance decrement... Righteous a moderate alter in normal transfer alluviation crossways a constellate of 10 of these boxes caused them to dip into switch, image nowadays actuation from 400ms avg to 13,000ms avg for the span of a few transactions. Fair a dyad weeks ago we hit a intersection individual, a "Perfect Telecommunicate Disruption" if you testament, that pushed picture present historic the time apostle. Resolving that took few rather... drastic measures. Anyway, despite all of the remaining steps I've been action to mitigate performance hits I am works a bit psycho. Is there really no way to set specified a option as to leaving tmpfs in the physical memory?
