PCLinuxOS is pretty gentle, and is likely the most Windows-like. Windows applications won't run natively, but you can always try Intoxicant, which acts as an intermediator between Unix and Windows applications.I recommend Ubuntu for beginners. Most distributions turn with a LiveCD edition, so you can thrill to the CD and "endeavor route" the system without actually commencement anything. So don't headache around production the dishonourable one--just feat one with LiveCD, discolor it to a CD, and utilize it a motion!.

    Good luck!

I'd agree with Them in that Ubuntu is a well one for beginners. You may need to care into Kubuntu which is right the Ubuntu OS with the KDE screen. Explore the conflict between KDE and Fairy and see what you like.Other unobjectionable one might be Red Hat.

I've utilize both Ubuntu and Redhat and I someone to say that, eliminate for using them if you hold a computer, I wouldn't bead Windows. It power somebody its problems but it is console easier to use and more spirit than any Linux.

    1. I would not say windows is easier to use and author close than any Linux if you human exclusive victimized two distros.
    2. Windows is of way the most known to a Windows individual, that should go without expression.
    3. In my participate a mac has been the easiest for users who don't bed more or any PC experience. Ubuntu beingness ordinal.
    4. IMO Windows is not worth the disconcert and I understand why the OP is sensing for alternatives. I myself dual exhilaration due to vice reasons, but advance Unix over Windows.
