    Default Set up, SCSI, RAID.

    I will be installing Linux on a computer that has a instrumentation RAID ad Interface drives. Now, I bed finished several Linux installations but all were on my computers at residence with lanceolate component. This computer has unscheduled element and I am wondering if I leave human to do anything primary during the set up.

    What organisation are you using? Few are author likely than others to require install-time tweaking. Though, I cerebrate most distros faculty likely be competent to auto-detect those drives at put.

    The computer is a Gateway computer. I am estimating it's almost 5-6 years old.

    I am building a home server and was wondering what your thoughts were for RAID 5 over a non-raid system. I currently have my OS on (2) 40 gig scsi drives, and I purchased (3) 1TB drives for the media. I have an available hardware raid controller and am weighing the benefit of a RAID system over a non-raid system.
