The partitioning scheme used here is well thought out and is probably the best way to install this distro for desktop lise. In my case, the entire disk is to be used for a single distro.

First, create a 100 MB partition for the contents of the /boot directory and set this partition as active. Second, use the remaining disk space as an LVM volume group. Create a logical volume for all the directories under / (the root, or top-level, directory).

After this, create a logical volume for swap, twice the size of the RAM available on the system. And finally, a logical volume for the contents of the /home directory. Refer to Figures 1,2,3,4 & 5 to understand the partition scheme I am talking about.
