Default Migrating from Mac OS to Linux

Hello people. For that, I have a white MacBook and I happen to Linux. My question is how to install Linux on the MacBook, as I have located a couple of tutorials I think I will.

But I have doubts on how to do the same time and save all my data without traumatizing in the attempt. I'm not sure what happen distribution, but I'm sure you do not want more Mac OS on my hard drive. What would be better? Do I spend my dual boot Linux data and then delete Mac OS? I save the data in an external hard drive and crushed Mac OS? Does Linux can read the hard drive with the Mac OS File System Plus? I can think of more alternatives, but I think it would be more complicated.

As can be done in many ways, but what I would do is copy all the data to an external disk (or create a storage partition, data, or how you want to call and save there) and then you install any distro, for example Ubuntu, which has a good guide to install this distro of Linux in almost every macbook.

First check to see if all components are working well in Linux, if it can delete all Mac OS X to your liking, but I never take it off if such work is not going to use the webcam and you need every X time, or things like that.

Thanks hcakal. But the question is whether Ubuntu will read the data I recorded on the external hard drive. Mainly this is the only question I have. Mac OS only officially recorded in the file system of Mac OS Extended.

Otherwise I think I'll dual boot. At least at first, because all the manuals that come with that explanation I see. So I'm not complicated.

Read without problem on Linux MacOS HFS+ but not writing, Mac OS can read and write FAT32, and Linux tb. so it looks good to have the external drive to Fat, but if you had it in HFS would read it as you say.
