Default Problem in Ubuntu 10.10 - internet will not

Hello, I have a problem with Ubuntu 10.10 leaving me without internet connection, the connection apparently does well but does not load any web browser, is that maybe (not sure) when I upgrade occurred from Ubuntu 9.04 to 10.10 and that worked perfectly as I could not see if it is because of lack of driver or something, so I ask for help. To say that I just reinstalled (the 10.10) and the problem persists What I can do?

Problem of drivers do not believe, because the network card has long been supported. See if the detected ifconfig and you will the various network interfaces you have, I guess yours will detect under eth0. Then you have to configure setting IPs and DNSs manually or automatically with DHCP by clicking the icon on the top bar to the right and you will get something like a menu with something like "Auto eth0" and select it and begin to negotiate connection to the router.

I put it clearer, modified the / etc / sysctl.conf as root. You can do a "sudo tueditorfavorito / etc / sysctl.conf" If it works it should work instantly without rebooting or anything. If it does not simply repeat the steps but to erase what you added to the file. To me what that will slow very slow internet happens to me randomly on teams from the 10.04 when I installed some buntu. Some pages do not load directly, with this I've solved it. I hope I serve you too.

Man is not that let you change it, I assure you that if you can not use vi can not be or create a new file and start writing If you have any graphic editor would be ideal, but if what follows is to use nano "sudo nano / path / to / file" You just added what I put at the end of the file and not worry too much that nothing happens .

You interface with IP enabled, look you have DNS well, so do a ping to any web address to see what happens. You can edit the file: nano / etc / resolv.conf and add several lines "nameserver 80.58.0.97" and "nameserver 8.8.8.8" (without the quotes and save changes to nano, Ctrl + X) though I suppose you would to have some that you have provided your router if you use DHCP.
