Slow Ubuntu 11.10 Hello, I recently installed Ubuntu on my laptop 11.10, the problem is that it is extremely slow for example when I move a window, it is as a means hook, and the windows are moved to blows. I have a core 2 duo and nvidia 9600gs is a graphical install nvidia drivers and acceleration works, but both with them and without them is very slow, someone knows what is due or if you can fix that somehow.

Can be due to vertical sync, try to disable it to see if you notice improvement, in my case, yes I've noticed, but I have a AMD card not very good, I remember that you have to disable the ccsm Compiz Fusion Configuration Management and paragraph openGL.

Well, not if there are problems with graphics acceleration for 3D games work well and others, but good in the end I've spent the Gnome 3 desktop is just as nice and if that goes well fast.
