PC Main board Issue

I got new GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard. Now I had reinstalled XP SP2 on system then PC doing something weird. My DVD burner does not working. When I turn on PC Fans/HDD power up, and then Flash of light shows on K/B and then nothing. Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

Bad or unsuited memory is serious reason of many problems. Check BIOS settings, if ACPI is set for S1 or S3. Little errors, to all types of odd damages, because of memory problems. To check if problem with memory then try MemtestX86. This tests memory and give better results.

If problems happen as scrutiny memory, it does not mean memory is bad. Do Windows identify drive? If so, what error are you getting when try to burn? If Windows is identifying drive, can it understand CD or DVD? Check these things, before proverb that memory is bad. It is good to check memory on another system also, before saying memory is bad.
