Asus A7N8X motherboard is socket A motherboard created for AMD Athlon and Duron processors. Flashing BIOS of A7N8X is procedure of updating system BIOS. BIOS mean set of commands that PC follows to start. A7N8X motherboard utilizes awdflash to update its BIOS, program that should be run in DOS mode. To run PC in DOS mode, PC should boot from bootable floppy with awdflash on it.

Instructions

• Put in floppy into floppy disk drive.

• Right-click on floppy disk drive in My Computer and choose "Format..."

• Check the box labeled "Create an MS-DOS startup disk", then click "Start" to format disk.

• Copy awdflash.exe and Bios Update file to floppy.

• Reboot PC and push "Del" to enter BIOS. Go to menus and vary boot device precedence of floppy into 1st Boot Device, then save and exit.

• Type "awdflash biosfile.bin" in command prompt. "biosfile.bin" is particular name of bios update file. Type "dir" and press enter to show files that are on disk to see particular bios update file name.

• Follow instructions when awdflash launches to complete flashing A7N8X motherboard.
