The Intel has finally release a really impressive processor series today, to support it, they also had to build a new infrastructure for it. This appraisal is going to cover the basics of Intel's X58 chipset motherboard. The key features of these motherboard are it support the QPI and has triple channel memory module port (DDR3) and support the Core i7 processors. We have other features like multiple GPU graphic cards. Snazzy OCZ memory before we start I need to say, this is in fact a reference review with supplied memory, cooler etc. We have another X58 review for you guys where we use multiple multi-GPU graphics cards, snazzy OCZ memory, 3rd party X58 main boards, new cooling etc.
This new chipset will use the same ICH10(R) "South bridge chipset" as the Intel P45 (Eaglelake) chipsets, but the X58 chipset overall clearly will be different.
The X58 Express it will use the new LGA1366 socket (also known as Socket B).
No more memory controller and it will have a QPI (Quik-Path Interconnect) among the Intel Core i7 processor and X58 Express motherboard.
There's another feature about the X58 chipset motherboard that it support the SLI and Crossfire which attract most gamers. But to get the SLI support activated the motherboard should be certified by the NVIDIA and will get it unlocked through its drivers these multi support graphic card even support as even Intel had to clearly include support for at least two X16 PCI Express 2.0 ports with 4 X8 ports to support the Quad Graphic cards. (Crossfire).
