First the DRAM memory module were manufactured in SIMM form, single in-line memory module or mostly called as DDR1 RAM. At present the memory module are being manufactured in DIMM form, which means dual in-line memory module or mostly named as DDR2. And the next generation memory module would be manufactured as Three in-line memory or DDR3.
