    Default Help with choosing memory

I want to change the memory from 4 GB to 8 GB
    Please help in choosing

    My PC
    Asus P5KC
    Core 2 Duo E8500
    GeForce 9600

At first glance stopped at PC2-8500, but in the instructions to the nurse says "Support DDR1066 is not documented for this chipset." Although a BIOS upgrade solved the problem like.

Judging from the tests, there was no difference between PC2-8500 and PC2-6400, but there was tested for Core 2 Duo E6700, and I have a Core 2 Duo E8500.

Help choose what to take the memory, can other manufacturers?

If PC2-6400, then making sure it's overclocked, and if PC2-8500, then to work at maximum.

    Processor drive going?

Please note that the 6400 in normal mode this processor is more than enough.

The processor I'm a little broke up, (actually my friend helped, but I throughout this terminology), what frequency we exhibited, I do not remember, but he now works in a constant mode at a frequency of 3,9 GHz if that's what you mean.

What kind of memory now stands and at what frequency works? What are you choices frequency settings BIOS?

In the section where to put the CPU frequency is set and memory frequencies. A type of memory installed you can look at her.

You can not climb in the Bios and all nothing but download magazines: CPUID and she would write on a bus runs per cent and the frequency with which working memory ... In general I would not have chased a percent and would have bought the memory Kingston Value RAM KVR800D2N52G DDR-II DIMM 2Gb PC2-6400 CL5. (2 pieces). I find it interesting, but what and in what applications, tangible difference you get from such a crackdown?

I have now is 4 GB of memory. For me, the question is how effective is it in such a processor, mate. Motherboard and video. I work with graphics. Often at the same time in just four of Adobe programs: Photoshop, illustrator and bridge, plus Ward and Cmdr. Basically now I am pleased with how the PC, but I understand that it has the potential to daemon, such as the ability to use 8 GB of memory, and judging by the tests, with skilful acceleration obtained a significant increase by 30 percent or even more. I really became convinced that the difference between 3,16 GHz and 3,9 GHz CPU clock very good feel for the work of the above applications.

As for overclocking is the memory, apart from overclocking the CPU it makes no sense. Fast memory is actually needed only to facilitate overclocking the processor to the memory overclocking is not accounted for.

If you are working with several 32-bit programs, you really get an advantage with 8 GB of memory for x64, since each copy of the application will be ideally available to 2 GB of memory. If the application at any one time, it's pointless, 4 GB for 32-bit system will be better, since the application can use all available memory - close to 3 GB of the ideal.
