I have an Asus M2N MX SE motherboard. Yesterday, my 1 GB DDR2 667MHz memory went bad. So today I went to buy new one. There in the shop I saw a cheap bundle of 2x2GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM modules (so, total 4GB RAM!).
Since I had lost my motherboard manual, I downloaded it from the internet. But unfortunately, the manual says that it supports only 2GB maximum memory, and each module supports 1GB maximum(total 2 modules)...So I searched for review of my motherboard on the internet, and in many of those reviews said that it supports 4GB max! While some review said 2 GB max! I am totally confused now and not sure what to do as the salesman at the shop says they wont take back the RAMs bought once they sold it;So, my question is, does my motherboard actually supports this much memory? Has anyone with same motherboard model experience the same situation?
