Firstly I saw one thing when I remove RAM from its packaging is its sheer weight. Not a flimsy Thermal take-case kind of weight, but firm qualities feel to them. These were certainly high-end spreaders, copper at heart, with a platinum coat. Now I managed to successfully fight these heat-spreaders off, giving me a glance at uncovered IC.
It's formed like a Fat body D9 module, though known as a Spectek PD502. It's probably a relabeled Micron D9DQX or D9DQW IC. I am not sure of Spectek’s connection with OCZ or Micron, if any it is probably that after original Fat body D9’s became discontinued, OCZ chased down all Fat body D9s they could find, and pulled this particular set out of Spectek’s supply.
