The well-known BH-5 memory has been beyond production for many years, and people have scrambled to purchase any that they get. The BH-5 model was substituted by ch-5, which could scale to higher speeds, but at cost of latency. A new Winbound product known as UTT may modify this.

The Winbound UTT has taken memory market by storm. Almost all memory sellers created some type of memory with UTT. OCZ looks to be one of few that can obtain 2-2-2-8 with 3.3v. The chips in VX are Winbound CH series that has not been thought. Now with power of UTT, more people are getting speeds and timings equal to famous BH-5.

If VX has UTT CH memory, what could be under heat spreaders of this memory? The production of BH memory has started again, so there is a good place to begin, and add UTT in there, you go a good combination.

OCZ has started to modify various series of RAM to several groups of people. The Gold series is customized to gamers. The gold series is usually low latency memory at a cheap price. The gold 2-2-2 is a key example of gaming memory, it is cheap at $160 at a many online retailers, and its 2-2-2-5 latency is very low.

OCZ says that gold series be likely not to overclock also. The VX over clocked superbly. The stock setting was 200 MHz, and I got up to 250 MHz while keeping 2-2-2-5 timings. That looks to be a good overclock, and mine were not handpicked examples. They came off store shelf. Many people are obtaining similar results as I am obtaining. I am expecting same results with Gold 2-2-2.
