So there we have it, the workings of EPoXies first board based on the AMD 690G chipset. I do have to tell you, I was pretty impressed with this board overall. When assembling a system, it is precious to have power and reset buttons on the motherboard, especially when the motherboard is so new it does not have a manual yet. EPoX has once again shown its enthusiasm to hardware enthusiasts by giving us the capacity to adjust most features of the system for optimum over-clocking ability. And the extra features, like Ghost-Bios, Thunder Probe, and Magic Screen are just like icing on the cake.
As always, here are the pros and cons for this board:
Pros:
• Integrated 7.1 Audio
• Integrated X700 Radeon doing well, outside of heavy 3D
• many backing utilities (Thunder Probe, Ghost Bios, etc)
• outstanding performance and over-clocking abilities
• In board VGA and DVI ports available
Cons:
• The ATX Power Connector build the power harness block the CPU fan
• The included X700 video dies in heavy 3D graphics (5-10 fps)
• Would have liked to see 1394 support
