    Windows XP 32-bit edition can contain 4GB of RAM, even as the 64-bit edition can contain up to 128GB of RAM. These restrictions are due to memory-addressing problems inbuilt with 32-bit and 64-bit processors, and cannot be going beyond regardless of other hardware upgrades.
