Thread: Not able to upgrade the RAM

My computer's config is a Pentium 0 2.8 GHz, Jetway motherboard with Intel 865 chipset, 160 HOD and 256 MB of system memory. The problem is that I am unable upgrade the RAM. If I use a new 1 GB or 512 MB stick, my PC does not show any display. If I install the old RAM, it runs perfectly fine. What should I do? Where am I going wrong?

The memory module that you are installing might not be compatible with your motherboard. Check with your dealer and confirm that the module is of the right frequency according to the requirement of the motherboard. Inform him about the motherboard model or take your motherboard or PC along with you when you are visiting your dealer. Though it looks like the problem is only a mismatch of the memory types, it could also be a case of a faulty RAM.
