Memory (RAM) and hard drive space are two finally diverse types of storage mediums. Hard drive freight space can be deleted, while memory cannot. RAM stores data temporarily in cells composed of a transistor and a capacitor. The transistor acts as a switch for the memory chip, deciding if data should be read and changed. If the capacitor does not receive power, the data will be lost. This allocation from CPU to capacitor occurs thousands of times every second.
