could anyone help with pc problem? can't stay connected to the internet?

running emachine (vista)with 2 gigs ram. Installed CA security suite. Will connect fine to internet then after anywhere from 2-30 mins will not be able to connect until we reboot the pc back on...only way to stay connected to the net is to keep rebooting. Have called time warner..no issues with modem, took PC to geek squad who said PC has no known issues (although the DOS window always comes up on start up) That doesn;t seem normal although I'm sure it has nothing to do with internet connectivity. Please help!

Reinstall Vista and get Norton or Fix It. No, just get Norton, Fix It won't ever let me do anything without creating a recovery point.

Hi..I had that problem one with my Windows XP. I was using a free firewall that was not totally compatible with my Internet provider. I got angry with the service and called their tech. support and after many through questions I stopped the firewall and sure enough I stayed connected with no more problems. Call your ISP and ask if they are aware of any issues with CA security suite. My bet is there is! Your second problem of DOS coming up on start up do you have a second operating system installed? Sounds like Dual-boot mode or Safe mode. Next time you get that screen on start up, try hitting your print screen key then opening paint or word and pasting the image in the document and post it to the discussion board. Problems are easier solved when see than described. Hope this helps.Best regards,Chris D.
