Totally depends on your usage. AMD offers better perform¬ance for price lower down the value ladder, but once it comes to the higher performing, costlier parts, AMD has no answer to Intel's higher-end processors.
That's not to say that Intel is weak in the value segment or AMD lacks performance parts, it's just that markets usually align themselves according to certain manufacturing trends, and at the moment, if you want the best performance, Intel is the way to go. For a value purchase, AMD makes more sense, espe¬cially at the lowest rungs of the performance I price ladder.
