Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H relies on AMD's new 890GX chipset with integrated Radeon HD 4290 (700 MHz, 128 MB, DirectX 10.1), including HDMI, DVI and VGA output. Though, performance increase the 3D compared to nearly year old predecessor AMD 790GX chipset, integrated Radeon HD 3300 with 700 MHz also, but only DirectX 10.0 does not. The biggest news of the AMD 890GX is therefore support for SATA3, which with 6.0 instead of 3.0 Gb / s maximum bandwidth SATA2 doubled and so for the fastest SSD drives sufficient transfer capacity provides. Two USB 3.0 ports offer the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H, like all other USB 3.0 motherboards currently, with the help of an additional chip from NEC. The two PCI-Express 16x slots dominate Crossfire but not Nvidia's SLI, this coming three PCIe 1x and two PCI slots. The only equipment deficiency: the lack of external eSATA port.
In the Gigabyte Socket AM3 processors UD3H 890GPA-fit all the relevant AMD, including the brand new Phenom II X6 with six cores. In the four memory slots can accommodate up to 16.0 GB of DDR3 RAM up to 1866 MHz speed. Thanks to the good, if not rich overclocking options in the BIOS of the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H tickle you to request more performance from your hardware, comfort features such as profiles to store different OC settings or on the board mounted on / off and reset
switches are missing.
