I have a Dell Inspiron 1521. The S-video out is 7 pin. The converter I have is 7-pin and does not work at all. I also have a 4 pin converter which works in black and white. Dell suggested it's a problem with the motherboard and built-in graphics card ATI Raedeon x1270 so they swapped it with another I continue to have the same issue. Do I need a certain converter and which? Thanks!

No. The problem with S-video out is that you have to switch between the monitor and the tv connected to the S-Video. It has to be somewhere in the display properties.Good luck
