    Default Motherboard proposal.

I am likely the new member here, and a big hello to everyone u tech junkies.... First of all my computer configuration:Intel Pentium Four 1.7Ghz, 256MB PC2700 DDR RAM, Intel D845GLAD mobo, 230Watts power supply. Later xependiture Two years with the above system which is really a HCL Beanstalk example, I need a small upgrade for my gaming requirements. I am designing to purchase a 9600serial or a 9800SE video card most likely from ClubThreed. Too appearing at the digicolor 5700 as an choice. The trouble is my mobo does not have an AGP port so i need to buy (or exchange) this mobo for a novel at a bare mininmum cost. The simply thing i need is an AGP 8x port and the common characteristics. What mobo should i select?

There is barely any difference in function among 4X and 8X...
even if u r so particular about a 8X mobo, there are a lot of low choice in the intel 845 chipset itself...these r few connections from baazee too test if u can receive a VIA chipset mobo for ur Pfour.. If u can yield it, then go for a 9800 pro card...there are a some people on this forum who have 9800 pro's for sale...u can receive a so good deal if u r comfy with purchasing a second hand card..although, a better choice would be the 6600 GT card...excellent than the 9800 pro and lower as well....a 230 watts supply will not suffice...receive urself a 400 w supply...

I imagined my PFour 1.7Ghz was a 478 pin chip entire these days. I hope I am right and so i guess i can still buy the 865GBF?? The digicolor 5700 is definitely better than 5700 LE i thought the LE is now over cost...

Your processor is a 478 pin...my 1.5 Williamette is a 478 pin processor just the mobo with the 865 chipset is a hard handle...i had a lot of problem myself while purchasing my mobo...i am not so convinced if the original Intel mobo supports the PFour williamette but I am sure that certain gb and Asus design do, but then again their availability and price will be an issue....first of all make sure of the make of your processor a good way to do that wud be to use sumthing like sisoft sandra....1s u know the designs and build of your processor, explore the different sites of manufacturers and see which designs supports the similar....
