Sony's MRW62E-S2, the one we received for testing is an eye candy. It has very nice looks and sleek design, and it can read a plethora of cards. The Supported formats are Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick Mirco, CompactFlash, Microdrive, SmartMedia, xD- Picture Card, SD Memory Card, mini SD Card, MultiMediaCard, RS-MNC This card reader is a single mini US.B for power as well as data connectivity, and the speed is good enough on most of the memory cards.
We put in a multiple memory cards on all the slots and run them simultaneously. In realtime the speed came down a little bit but while running a single memory card the speed was exceptionally good. We tested a single individual cards slot with a multiple file types and transfered it from memory card to Pc. We observed the speed varied depending upon the card capacity.
The compactness of the memory also affected the performance. Overall the speed and performance of all the card reader slot were excellent. Well it is up to you whether you want Kingston or Sony as these two Multimedia card reader (both 19-in-1) cost you the same price.
