Default MSI A75MA-GFifty Five AMD FMOne CPU board

The Lynx platform, otherwise familiar as Llano for desktop, is out in complete force now. The fresh chip set extends something of an option to low-end Sandy Bridge systems with comparable central processing unit power and very heightened graphics processing unit power. These APUs do not themselves a system make, however, and entire the common manufacturers have been furnishing a plethora of CPU boards in which to position your fresh Lynx APU.

In this article is assuming a look at the MSI A75MA-G55 CPU board. The MSI A75MA-G55 sports the latest FM1 socket which assumes Llano APUs. Recently the 2 available are the A8-3850 and the A6-3650, which arrive ready to rock with Radeon HD discrete step graphics. We have already seen the function of the AMD A8-3850 APU, just let's look at the MSI plan for the A75 chip set and how they differ from the competition.

The A55 and A75 chip sets that utilize the FM1 socket and are provided through the Llano APUs are the culmination of 5 years of job at AMD since their acquisition of ATI. The view was to construct a processor capable of managing central processing unit functions and GPU functions. And, only for kicks, they threw the north bridge on the die also. Well, but that did not end things. AMD freed the Llano chips for netbooks and notebooks early in 2011 and at last established Llano for desktop in June 2011. The chief dissimilar among the Intel Sandy Bridge processors and the AMD Lynx APUs is that AMD utilizes ATI Radeon HD graphics as the on-die graphics processing unit. This brings up the steps of graphics long above what Intel extends in the Sandy Bridge.

The Sandy Bridge processors, however, arrive at far ahead of the Lynx APUs, if you are unforced to expend the money. The A8-3850 that we reviewed functioned on par, and commonly slightly excellent, than the Core i3-2100 that we tried it against. But the A8-3850 is, so long, the top of the line of Lynx APUs. The Core i3-2100 is close to the bottom of Intel's line-up. AMD has not given up on higher step function, though. Only before the Llano for desktop release, they freed the 990FX chip set, an promote from the 890-series. This release continues on AMD's mid- to high-end extending and will be compatible with the fresh Bulldozer central processing units as good as the former Phenom-2 and Athlon-2 CPUs.
