Thread: New CPU Stops Recognizing Any plans after 4 Minutes

AMD Phenom 2 X2 550 AM3
Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H
4 x 2GB RAM
Radeon HD4850

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Brand new desktop cpu, collected by NCIX (Vancouver)

Whenever I boot-up the cpu from fully off, the wireless card (D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN) connects well to my home WLAN (4/5 bars) and works for about 4 or 5 minutes. Then it stops recognizing any WLANs (there are 2 or 3 others in range) and nothing I do can make it know WLANs again unless I restart, at which the same process repeats.

It called D-Link Support. Reloaded wireless card drivers. Checked to make sure LAN was in range. Their tech guys mainly told me it was a connectivity problem and to go router closer and PFO. Absolutely NOT a signal strength problem. When it works, I get good signal from 3 or 4 networks. Other PCs have no problem connecting from anyplace in house.

OK I changed WLAN card into other PCI slot (I only have 2) and put sound card that engaged second slot into first slot where WLAN card came from.

Now all shows to work well. I have been on network for over an hour with no problem.
So all appears to work now, including the sound card. But I still have no freaking clue what's going on.
