I have a laptop of Toshiba Portege running XP which had been used on a domain. I could not obtain it to network with my home network because it was part of a domain.
Though now I cannot boot as old password to access PC is no longer valid. I cannot access PC at all. I have an old XP install disk which I wanted to use to repair, though laptop has no CD drive and won't boot from an external USB CD drive. It also doesn't have a floppy drive installed.
There are some files on laptop which I want though even taking out HDD did not help as the HDD has a non-standard connector and I cannot connect it up to an external USB housing.
I cannot get into safe mode either It appears to have been disabled on PC with its strange proprietary BIOS.
If I buy an external floppy I could use DOS to move the files from the HDD into an external HDD? Maybe then I could run the CD repair?
