Thread: Unable to connect to my internet wireless network

I am having problem connecting my desktop to my wireless router. Whenever I attempt to connect to my own network the desktop just says connecting for a while then does nothing. The desktop is using a Belkin F5D7000 v1 wireless adapter and is running Windows XP SP3.The router is a Linksys WRT54G2.

Both having latest firmware or driver updates; however latest driver for wireless adapter is about six years old. I have aiming to disable all network security options and still cannot connect.

I also enabled to effectively attach to my network with a laptop, and attach to nearby wireless networks with desktop.

That is the update that I am now using. I think they updated their wireless utility.
Also, I have tried using both their utility and Windows to create the connection. Neither of them works.

Stop encryption on router and attempt to connect. If successful you maybe again enable encryption and reconnect. If unsuccessful do following given.
Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
Type the following command:
IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in command window and pick Select All, then press Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If needed utilize a text file and detachable medium to copy results to PC with internet.

One prospect is wireless interference. Keep forgetting that interference can impact various adapters in a different way.
